Only the Rongai Route, which lies close to the Kenyan border, accesses Kilimanjaro from the north. Additionally, it is the only route with fewer people on it. Compared to other Kilimanjaro routes, the Rongai path has more slope.
Rongai is one of the favoured routes for climbers who want a different option to other well-known routes before scaling Mount Kilimanjaro, for those who want a more remote walk, and for climbers who are doing it during the rainy season because the northern circuit receives less precipitation.
