ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK

NATIONAL PARK IN ARUSHA

Arusha National Park is one of the smaller and most charming Tanzania destinations, covering an area of 137 sq. km. The Arusha National Park, a small but charming park located 15 kilometres from Arusha town, is situated between the summits of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Visitors to safaris flock to this park to get the whole Tanzania safari tour experience.

The shallow, acidic Momella Lakes, which are famous for their resident and migratory birdlife, particularly the flamingos, and the Ngurdoto Crater, a 3 km wide whole caldera, whose proximity to wildlife has earned it an epithet of “A Jewel Among Parks” are just a few of the fantastic highlights of the Arusha National Park. Mount Meru dominates the park and Little Ngorongoro; at 4,566 m, it is the second-highest mountain in Tanzania and the fifth-highest mountain in Africa. Bison, elephants, hippos, giraffes, warthogs, a variety of impalas, zebras, and the strikingly stunning and strikingly contrasted colobus and blue monkeys roaming along their branches are just a few of the wildlife species found in the backwoods. Lions are occasionally seen inside the park and outside, and leopards and hyenas are also spotted. Along with a variety of herons, egrets, grebes, African pochards, and other avian species that are both transient and resident, a nearby park is also home to numerous sell falcons and a large variety of butterflies. 575 different bird species have been spotted at the area on particular days. Consequently, pick the best time to visit Tanzania. Take a trip with precious safaris to experience this fantastic national park.

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK FOOD

The abundance of gastronomic delights on offer is only one of the many advantages of living in a mixed-race society. With its extensive menu, Arusha truly is a foodie’s paradise. A variety of local Indian, Mediterranean, mainland, and Chinese culinary styles are offered in
addition to the traditional nearby and Tanzanian spread. A thick porridge made from maize flour, served in the many restaurants in the town, is an Ethiopian delight that poses a serious challenge to Ugali. The preferred breakfast options among locals include bubbled cassava, sweet potatoes, and grilled bananas (ndizichoma). Nyama Choma (grilled meat) is a local favourite on the meat spread, but there are also kebabs to pique your curiosity.

To begin any conversation, smile and say “Jambo!” in a cheerful manner. In many cases, learning a few Swahili words in Tanzanian language will help break the ice. The best time to visit Tanzania is in the summer (June to September), when temperatures are at their coolest and many hotels and lodges are highly crowded, especially in July and August. Are you prepared to explore Tanzania’s many delights? View the selection of small group excursions offered by precious safaris in Arusha National Park.
